Several streets in Kyiv were closed following a massive attack by Russia

Following a massive Russian strike on Kyiv, law enforcement officials have blocked traffic on a number of streets in four districts of the capital. Public transportation is operating with route changes, and some routes have been temporarily adjusted. The restrictions were implemented due to the aftermath of the attack and the work of emergency services.

According to police, traffic restrictions have been implemented in the Solomyanskyi, Obolonskyi, Pecherskyi, and Desnianskyi districts of the capital.

Currently, traffic is blocked:

  • Brativ Zerovych Street—from Preobrazhenska Street to Maksym Kryvonos Lane;
  • Berezhanska Street—from Lugova Street to Poliarna Street;
  • the roundabout from Miska Street toward Soshenka, Pushcha-Vodytska, and Vyshhorodska Streets;
  • at the intersection of Tsytadelna and Ivan Mazepa Streets;
  • Vasyl Ivanis Street—from Kubanska Ukraina Street to Milyutenko Street.

Law enforcement officials urged drivers to take these restrictions into account when planning their trips.

Kyivpastrans reported that due to damage to the overhead contact system and traffic closures, it was necessary to temporarily change public transit routes.

Specifically:

Trams No. 12 and No. 19 are running from the Kontraktova Ploshcha metro station to the Podil Tram Depot;
a temporary bus route has been launched to replace tram No. 17—from Yordanska Street to S. Sklyarenka Street.

Trolleybus routes have also been changed:

  • Nos. 6 and 18 – from Maidan Nezalezhnosti to European Union Avenue;
  • No. 32 – from Pivnichna Street to the “Minska” metro station;
  • No. 33 – from Pivdenny Railway Station to European Union Avenue;
  • No. 38 – to Yevhen Konovalets Street;
  • Nos. 28 and 31 – to the Air Force Overpass.
  • In addition, buses No. 24 and No. 25 are temporarily running to Slavy Square.

This was reported by Oleksiy Biloshitsky, deputy head of the Patrol Police Department.

As a reminder, Russia attacked the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, causing a fire.

Prior to this, Russian KABs struck the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in injuries.

As a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv, five State Emergency Service rescuers were killed.
