In Kyiv, teenagers climbed onto the roof of a train; one person was killed and others were injured

A tragedy occurred in Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi District—three teenagers were electrocuted after climbing onto the roof of a train. One of them died.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of the capital.

Rescuers received the call at 5:23 p.m. According to preliminary information, the teenagers were on the roof of a stationary train when they were likely electrocuted.

At the scene, one boy was found unresponsive—he died from electrocution; two other teenagers suffered multiple burns and were hospitalized.

The body of the deceased was handed over to law enforcement to determine the full circumstances of the tragedy.

A similar incident occurred earlier in Borodianka, where a 13-year-old boy was also electrocuted on the railroad tracks. He is currently in the hospital.

Experts are once again urging people not to climb onto train cars, as the overhead power lines carry high voltage and pose a deadly danger even without direct contact.
