In Kyiv, a moment of silence will be observed daily at 9:00 a.m. over the loudspeakers
Kyiv has introduced a daily minute of silence broadcast via the city’s public address system.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
Starting April 13, 2026, a message announcing a moment of silence in memory of those killed as a result of Russian aggression is broadcast daily at 9:00 a.m. over loudspeakers.
Currently, the broadcast is being transmitted from over 400 locations throughout the city. The system is being gradually modernized, and the number of locations is being expanded.
The countdown to the minute of silence is also available in the “Kyiv Digital” app and on digital advertising displays throughout the city.
The goal of the initiative is to establish a daily ritual of remembrance for fallen military personnel and civilians.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law establishing a nationwide moment of silence at the state level every day at 9:00 a.m. The law provides for honoring the memory of those who died as a result of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. The moment of silence is intended to become a nationwide tradition of remembrance for the military and civilians who died during the war.
