Kyiv Denies Rumors of Detention Over Protests: The Man Was in the Special Medical Unit
Information has been circulating online claiming that on August 7 in Kyiv, a man was allegedly detained for participating in protests against the resignation of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
However, according to sources in law enforcement, this information is not true.
According to the publication’s sources, police stopped the man for a traffic violation—he was riding a motorcycle on the sidewalk near a shopping center.
While checking his documents, law enforcement officers determined that the man was classified as having “left his unit without authorization.” After that, he voluntarily agreed to report to one of the units of the Military Law Enforcement Service.
Sources also claim that the police did not use force against the man and did not confiscate his phone or other personal belongings.

The Kyiv City State Administration received a request from activists to hold a march in the center of the capital on July 31. The event was planned to protest the resignation of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
