The man allegedly explained his actions by claiming that the passerby was listening to foreign music, according to a report from the Kyiv City Police Department on September 3.

The incident took place at a garage cooperative on Holosiivskyi Avenue.
The police received a report from a local resident stating that “an unknown man approached him with an automatic weapon in his hands, started a confrontation, and began threatening him.” Patrol officers and an investigative team from the local police unit were immediately dispatched to the scene.
“Upon arriving at the scene, police detained the offender—who turned out to be a soldier—from whom law enforcement officers seized a captured weapon brought from the combat zone,” the police stated.
According to the detainee, “he began threatening the man allegedly because of the foreign music the man was listening to.” The suspect was handed over to officers from the State Bureau of Investigations.
