Over 2,200 firearms have been registered in Kyiv over the past year and a half
Since the voluntary firearms declaration procedure began in 2024, Kyiv residents have registered 2,237 firearms and over one million rounds of ammunition.
According to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, more than 2,136 citizens have contacted police units during this time.
After completing the declaration procedure, owners receive the appropriate permits and may legally possess the weapons.
The police note that to declare a weapon, one must report its possession or discovery by calling 102 or contacting the local police department. After that, you must complete the declaration procedure in person or take advantage of the option for licensing service employees to visit your place of residence.
To complete the process, you will need a Ukrainian passport and your taxpayer identification number.
Law enforcement officials remind the public that the possession of unregistered firearms is subject to criminal liability.
