Video: In Kyiv, a driver struck a soldier at a checkpoint and injured two patrol officers
In Kyiv, during curfew, patrol officers detained the driver of a Toyota Corolla who ignored an order to stop, struck a soldier at a checkpoint, and, while fleeing from law enforcement, damaged several police vehicles. Two patrol officers were also injured in the incident.
According to law enforcement officials, the driver struck a soldier on duty at a checkpoint, then damaged a police vehicle and began to flee. Patrol officers gave chase.
During the escape, the driver repeatedly violated traffic laws, endangered other road users, and damaged several more police vehicles.
The chase ended in a traffic accident: the driver lost control, crashed into an obstacle, and came to a stop. He was detained, and the passengers were freed from the vehicle.
As a result of the incident, the serviceman and two patrol officers sustained injuries. All of the victims received medical attention and were hospitalized.
An investigative team worked at the scene. Law enforcement officials are determining all the circumstances of the incident.
