Traffic rules for freight vehicles will change in Kyiv starting September 3

In Kyiv, new traffic rules for freight transport, adopted by the City Defense Council to improve the logistics situation in the capital, will take effect at midnight on September 3. According to the decision, restrictions on the movement of transit freight vehicles during curfew hours will be completely lifted.

At the same time, a ban on entering the city during peak traffic hours will be imposed on large vehicles with a maximum allowable weight exceeding 4.5 metric tons — from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. An exception is made for trucks transporting food and drinking water, which will be able to travel through the capital without restrictions at any time.

Ukraine aims to clearly define when government agencies, local authorities, and businesses will be able to continue operating during Russian drone attacks. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed the government, the military, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the State Emergency Service to develop clear criteria for this. At the same time, plans are in place to update the requirements for shelters and expand opportunities for installing modular structures.

The Kyiv city government will submit proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers to update safety protocols for Kyiv and amend the rules governing the city’s operations during air raid alerts.
