Kyiv Has Changed the Rules for Driving Across Bridges During an Emergency
In Kyiv, traffic regulations for bridges across the Dnipro River have been changed during air raid alerts. Specifically, the South Bridge and the Podil-Voskresensky Bridge will operate under new rules that include temporary closures.
Traffic on the Pivdennyi Bridge will be allowed without restrictions during an air raid alert; however, a 30-minute closure is scheduled immediately after the alert is declared and for another 30 minutes after it is lifted.
At the same time, access to the South Bridge from Saperno-Slobidska Street and Mykhailo Boichuk Street will be closed during the alert.
Operating hours for the Darnytsia Bridge, the Paton Bridge, the Metro Bridge, and the North Bridge will remain unchanged.
The Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge will also operate with a 30-minute closure following the announcement of an air raid alert and for another 30 minutes after the all-clear is given.
In addition, traffic patterns on the Podil-Voskresensky Bridge will be adjusted—reverse traffic will be implemented there.
This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Earlier, Kyiv had already shortened the curfew on September 10.
Kyiv has also changed the metro’s operating procedures during air threats.
Meanwhile, the curfew in the Kharkiv region will remain unchanged for now.
