Tram service was suspended in Kyiv due to an accident on the heating network
In the capital, starting at 10:00 a.m. on June 19, tram service on lines 22 and 25 has been temporarily suspended due to an emergency failure in the main heating networks on Boryspilskaya Street.
According to city officials, electric transit service was suspended due to an accident on the heating network that requires urgent repairs.
Tram service on these routes will remain suspended until the damage is repaired.
To ensure transportation services in the area, the number of buses on routes No. 51 and No. 63 has been increased, and additional service has been organized for the duration of the repairs.
City authorities have urged Kyiv residents to take these changes in public transportation into account when planning their trips and to stay updated on route changes.
Tram service will resume once emergency repair work is completed.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration and Kyivpastrans.
As a reminder, Kyiv city authorities rejected a petition calling for public transit fares in the capital not to be raised to 30 hryvnias.
Earlier, a protest took place near the Kyiv City State Administration building against a possible increase in public transportation fares in the capital to 30 hryvnias.
Viktor Mykhailovych Vygivskyi, head of the Kyiv Metro municipal enterprise, explained what makes up the actual cost of transportation and why the current fare is significantly lower than the cost of production, which is driven by expenses for electricity, salaries, and a shortage of staff.
The Kyiv City Council was unable to pass a resolution that would have allowed it to begin negotiations with international partners regarding a loan for the construction of the metro line to Troieshchyna.
