The Kyiv City State Administration has provided an update on what will happen to the Lukyanivsky Market following the damage caused by the Russian Federation’s attack
The owner of the Lukyanivsky Market in Kyiv, which was damaged during the Russian attack in May, has not yet made a decision regarding its full-scale reconstruction.
The Kyiv City State Administration noted that the market is privately owned by Kvitkova Halyavina LLC, so city authorities do not have the authority to influence decisions regarding the facility’s reconstruction.
Currently, the owner is preparing the necessary documents and assessing the damage in accordance with legislation on compensation for property destroyed or damaged as a result of the war.
At the same time, the market administration has already begun clearing the site. This work is being carried out to resume trade in the areas that are accessible.
The relevant department emphasized that as of mid-June, no final decision has been made regarding the major reconstruction of the Lukyanivsky Market.
