Abu Aleeha says he left Mango Jutt over editing disputes — Dawn
In Pakistan, filmmaker Ali Sajjad Shah, known in the film industry as Abu Aleeha, said that he left work on the film Mango Jutt because of disagreements over editing and additional filming. He had previously directed the project and, according to him, also wrote the screenplay, selected the cast and brought in Hareem Farooq as an actress and co-producer, Dawn reports.
Editing disputes
Shah said that he began working on the film three and a half years ago. Filming, according to him, was completed about two and a half years ago, and four months later he completed an edited version of the film.
According to the director, Farooq's team later proposed sending the film to India for further editing. He claims that the final version arrived a year later and was very poor. Shah also said that this version cut more than half of the scenes featuring Ayesha Jahanzeb's character, while scenes involving Mahira Bangash were also shortened.

Proposal for additional filming
According to Shah, during the same period the Punjab government allocated 30 million rupees to the team, after which he was asked to film additional scenes to justify the funding. The director said he refused because the proposed opening scene was impossible to film.
He also explained that Faisal Qureshi had prepared for the role by building muscle and growing a beard, but by the time the new filming was proposed, he had already changed his appearance for other projects. Shah linked his departure from Mango Jutt to these disagreements, after which work on the film continued without him.
After the trailer was released, Shah sharply criticized it on Instagram. Earlier, Farooq, answering a question about the absence of his name from the trailer credits, said that everyone who worked on the film would be credited. The publication noted that Farooq had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.
