Cyprus Mail: Animated series Alley Cats tops Netflix
In Cyprus, the publication Cyprus Mail reported that the adult animated comedy series Alley Cats took first place on Netflix shortly after its launch. The series consists of six 15-minute episodes, in which events begin at dawn and end when the cats go to sleep.
Plot and characters
At the center of the story are Gus the cat and his group, who are trying to help a lost kitten return home. According to the reviewer’s description, the characters constantly talk, joke and swear, while the series also addresses terrorism, poverty, drugs, friendship, love and grief.
Among the characters is Olive, voiced by Diane Morgan. She is in love with Rupert, whom the other alley cats call Ponce. Rupert lives in a house with a cat flap and an automatic feeder, but cannot have offspring after a visit to the veterinarian.

The reviewer’s assessment
The review’s author writes that negative feedback appeared even before the series premiered. At the same time, she describes Alley Cats as a crude, satirical and touching animated comedy for adults. In her view, the show combines sharp humor with sensitive topics.
The total running time of the six episodes is approximately an hour and a half. Cyprus Mail noted that after its launch, the series topped Netflix, and positive reviews later began to appear.
