Pakistani singer Ali Azmat releases Yahan Wahan single about human suffering
In Pakistan, singer Ali Azmat, known as the vocalist of the band Junoon, has presented a new single, Yahan Wahan, together with a dystopian music video. As Dawn reports, a disclaimer accompanying the video states that it was created through a combination of human directorial guidance and generative artificial intelligence tools.
Dystopian plot
The song is dedicated to different manifestations of human suffering which, according to the recurring line, take place “here, there and everywhere.” In the video, Azmat wakes up locked inside a secure complex, where unknown substances are forcibly administered to him. He later overcomes those holding him captive and escapes the facility.
During his escape, the protagonist sees human clones in glass tanks, as well as a brainwashing hall with endless rows of figures in suits and VR glasses bearing the word OBEY. In the song’s lyrics, he asks what life is like when everyone is imprisoned, why happiness has been lost, and why only ashes remain.

A call to break the shackles
Outside the complex, Azmat finds himself among ruins, picks up an electric guitar and begins playing surrounded by eerie glowing figures. The video then shows a montage of scenes featuring people facing hardship in different parts of the world: attacks on Indigenous peoples, poverty, food shortages, climate catastrophe, and the activities of the military-industrial complex that generate profits for wealthy people.
In the song, Azmat calls on listeners to break the shackles of cruelty, gather all their strength and change life for the better. At the end of the video, he leads a group of survivors toward people resembling military personnel and an armored vehicle. The video lasts about five and a half minutes and contains graphic scenes and simulated violence.
