Diplo headlines Spotify House Seoul opening program in South Korea

A four-day Spotify House Seoul music pop-up opened on Thursday in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, South Korea. The first-day program was headlined by Grammy-winning DJ and producer Diplo. As The Korea Herald reports, the event at Anderson C combines live performances with interactive zones where visitors can try the streaming service's features and engage with artists' content.

Spotify House Seoul is being held in Seongsu for the second consecutive year. This year's program has become larger in scale, with three concert evenings dedicated to different genres. On the first day, Riize, Rescene and Yves performed alongside Diplo in the Electronic x K-Pop program.

Spotify interactive zones

On the third floor, an Artist Room was set up with covers from the This Is playlist series. Visitors can call numbers assigned to artists: for example, calling 107 plays a recorded greeting from Woni of Rescene. Visitors can also write postcards to event participants and leave them in a mailbox so they can be delivered after the event ends.

In the Mix Room, guests are invited to scan Spotify Codes placed near various items, including T-shirts and headphones. The service selects music based on a user's listening history, so different visitors may receive different selections after scanning the same code.

In the Play Lounge, the Blend feature makes it possible to compare musical preferences, while Jam was adapted into a game called Jam'ga: participants answer questions by choosing songs and gradually create a shared playlist. A slot machine was installed for daylist, generating personalized playlist titles characteristic of the feature.

Three evenings of different genres

On Friday, Spotify House Seoul is scheduled to host an indie rock program featuring Jannabi, Hyukoh, Silica Gel, Kardi and can't be blue. Saturday evening will be dedicated to hip-hop, with Dynamicduo, The Quiett, Kid Milli & Okashii, Haon, Camo, Nowimyoung and Raf Sandou in the lineup.

Also on Saturday, Tiger JK and Lil Moshpit will perform Roots live for the first time, a new Spotify Singles track that brings together representatives of different generations of Korean hip-hop. The interactive spaces, merchandise store, photo zone and other activities will remain open through Sunday.
