Tom Cruise's daughter has officially renounced his last name
Suri, the 20-year-old daughter of Hollywood actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has officially changed her last name and no longer uses her father's surname. She is now registered under the name Suri Noel—her mother’s middle name.
According to reports, the Carnegie Mellon University student used her new name when registering to vote in the U.S., where only official personal information is required.
According to media reports, Suri decided to drop the surname Cruise to honor her mother, who raised her on her own, and to forge her own identity without associations with the famous surname.
The first signs of this decision appeared as early as 2024, when she was introduced as Suri Noel at her high school graduation. After Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ divorce in 2012, she lived with her mother, and Western media have repeatedly reported on her long-standing lack of contact with her father.
