The Veriovka Choir Has a New Director
The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine has appointed a new director of the Hryhoriy Veryovka National Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir. The position was filled by Vadym Yatsenko, an Honored Artist of Ukraine.
The new director was officially introduced by Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna. Prior to his appointment, Yatsenko served as chief choirmaster of the Lviv Opera and led the Lviv Municipal Choir “Homin.”
The previous director of the Veriovka Choir, Ihor Kuryliv, stated that he does not yet know whether he will continue working with the ensemble. According to him, he plans to meet with Vadym Yatsenko in the near future to discuss his future with the group.
Kuryliv also noted that during a meeting with the ensemble, the new director expressed his intention to develop the choir and work on its further growth.
