Cosmetics brand e.l.f. Cosmetics releases Mirror Mix compilation — Rolling Stone

Cosmetics brand e.l.f. Cosmetics has released its second original music compilation, Mirror Mix, created with the participation of 50 songwriters, producers, performers and creative collaborators. The album brought together artists working in pop, R&B, Latin and rock music, Rolling Stone reports.

Three-day creative intensive

Participants worked on the project with producer Michelle Bell, the founder of Geo Massive. A three-day creative intensive was organized for them, with eight hours set aside exclusively for writing music. Participants were tasked with creating material aligned with the brand’s mission of supporting self-expression.

According to e.l.f. Brands’ director of integrated marketing, Patrick O’Keefe, the project is intended to provide emerging artists with a platform to connect with new audiences and develop their careers. The company also draws attention to the difficulties independent musicians face with promotion and financing tours.

Participants and presentation

Participants in the compilation include sister pop-rock trio Hello Sister, Venezuelan singer and songwriter Joaquina, who won a Grammy, and WNBA basketball player Flau’jae Johnson. In 2024, e.l.f. Cosmetics had already released the music compilation Get Ready With Music, The Album.

To support the release, the brand is collaborating with lyrics platform Genius as part of the Open Mic series. On Wednesday, September 30, seven featured artists are set to perform their compositions before a live audience in an intimate format. Mirror Mix is already available on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, as well as in e.l.f. UP on Roblox.
