Lion Ceccah and the journey from the stages of Vilnius to performing at Eurovision

Lion Ceccah and the journey from the stages of Vilnius to performing at Eurovision

Lion Ceccah is an artist from Vilnius who has blended music, theater, and performance into his own unique stage style. He has gone from appearing on a television show to winning the national selection for a major song contest. Today, he takes the stage in the semifinals as one of the show’s contestants, according to the official Eurovision website.

Lion Ceccah is an artist from Vilnius who works at the intersection of music, theater, and performance, creating stage performances where sound, image, and movement are equally important. His work often goes beyond the usual format of a pop performer, as he conceives of the stage as a cohesive story rather than just a set of songs.

From childhood, he was drawn to various art forms—from music to poetry and dance—gradually developing his own style. An important part of his education was playing the violin, as well as choreography, particularly ballroom and street dance, which later greatly influenced his stage presence. He first made a public name for himself after participating in a television talent show, where his performance caught the audience’s attention and became the starting point for a more professional career. After that, he began actively releasing music, working on his own projects, and creating spaces for performance art in Lithuania.

A separate focus of his work is drag culture and theatrical performance, where he works both as a performer and as a creator of concepts. The artist himself has repeatedly emphasized that freedom of self-expression and the ability to explore identity through the stage—rather than through the standard constraints of a genre—are important to him.

In 2025, Lion Ceccah had already drawn attention at the national selection with a song, where he took second place, and later in 2026, he managed to secure victory and the right to represent the country on the contest’s main stage. His performances are noted for their combination of theatricality, emotional delivery, and visual elements.

Today is the semi-final: 15 contestants are taking the stage, and Lion Ceccah is performing 12th, closing out one of the show’s key segments.
