The star of "Euphoria" has launched a production company called Honey Trap
Sidney Swine has announced the launch of her own production company, Honey Trap, which will partner with Sony Pictures to produce films and TV series. At the same time, the actress continues her active career in Hollywood and is preparing new major projects.
Sydney Sweeney is taking another step in her career that goes far beyond acting, as she is now officially launching her own production company, Honey Trap, and appears to be planning not just to star in films, but to create them from concept to final cut.
The actress founded the company together with her longtime creative partner Kaylee McGregor, who will be responsible for project development and production, and Honey Trap itself is immediately launching in partnership with Sony Pictures on the condition of first-look rights to all new ideas, which effectively opens the door to Hollywood’s major studio system.
Swine is well acquainted with Sony not only as an actress, since she previously worked with this studio on the romantic comedy *I Love You, I Hate You*, where she served as both lead actress and executive producer, and the film unexpectedly became a hit, grossing over $210 million at the global box office and cementing her status not just as a star, but as someone who knows how to launch commercially successful projects.
The actress is also currently working with Sony on a new version of the cult classic “Barbarella,” based on the French comics that were previously adapted for the screen in 1968 starring Jane Fonda, and this project is already being called one of the most anticipated in her upcoming schedule.
Along with the launch of the company, Sweeney and Sony presented her creative vision, which she describes as stories on the edge of contradictions, where beauty and danger, strength and vulnerability, and the actress herself emphasizes that she wants to create films that don’t just entertain, but provoke conversation and emotion. “At Honey Trap, we believe that the most unforgettable stories are born from contradictions. Beauty and danger, intimacy and power, vulnerability and control. Our mission is to create bold cinematic films and series that challenge perceptions, spark discussions, and leave a lasting emotional impact,” the company said in a statement.
In addition, the new studio plans to support auteur directors and work with complex characters and unconventional storylines, and there is already talk of the possibility that Swini will try her hand at directing, with her first such experience potentially taking place as part of a collaboration with Sony.
At the same time, the actress continues her successful track record as a producer on other projects, notably the film “The Handmaiden,” which grossed nearly $400 million at the box office, as well as its sequel, “The Handmaid’s Tale: The Secret,” where she will once again appear on screen alongside Kirsten Dunst, further solidifying her position as one of the most active young producers in modern Hollywood.
