Elon Musk, founder of xAI and X, stated that the AI generator Grok Imagine will create a feature-length and “historically accurate” film adaptation of Homer’s *Odyssey* by the end of 2026.
Musk’s criticism of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film was directed at the film’s cast. In particular, the billionaire expressed dissatisfaction with the casting of Black actress Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy and the casting of Elliot Page, who played Sinon.
Variety noted the controversial nature of Musk’s statements regarding “historical accuracy,” given that Homer’s epic is a work of fiction. At the same time, Musk added that he is also prepared to finance a film adaptation of “The Odyssey” by Mel Gibson in Homeric Greek, allocating $100 million to the project.
