On September 1, Ukrainian singer Natalia Mogilevskaya took her 6-year-old daughter Sofia to her first day of first grade. The singer shared photos from the special morning and said that her daughter was very nervous leading up to this important day.
According to the singer, Sofia was very anxious about starting school, as well as about the security situation in Ukraine.
“First time in first grade. Sonya didn’t sleep all night—she was so nervous. Both about school and the shelling. We quietly talked about all her worries—about her new teacher, the other kids in her class, and her favorite extracurricular activities,” Natalia Mogilevska shared.
The singer said that her daughter confessed to her that she loves the piano, even though the lessons were difficult for her at first.
In addition, Sofia really wants to learn to read well.
According to the artist, being able to read easily is especially important to Sofia.
“Her greatest joy is that she’ll finally be able to easily write postcards to her mom, and her mom will be able to leave notes on the table in reply. New dreams, new prospects, new excitement. It was an unforgettable night and an unforgettable morning. I wish all first-graders a peaceful and joyful day on this important occasion—in a regular classroom, not in a bomb shelter. I’m praying for that,” Mogilevskaya emphasized.
Natalia Mogilevskaya also shared footage from Sofia’s morning routine before school.
In the video, the actress styles her daughter’s hair and helps her put on her school uniform. Sofia also shows her mom a medal symbolizing her new status as a first-grader.
Natalia Mogilevskaya is raising two adopted daughters—14-year-old Michelle and 6-year-old Sofia. According to information provided by the singer, she and her partner Valentin adopted the girls in late 2023.
