The star actor of the 1990s TV series *Melrose Place* has died

The global film industry has been shaken by the news of the sudden death of renowned American actor and producer Patrick Muldoon. 

This was reported by the Daily Mail and officially confirmed by the actor’s family.

The star of cult TV series from the 90s passed away on Sunday, April 19, at the age of 57. 

The tragedy occurred at the actor’s home in Beverly Hills, California. According to his loved ones, Patrick spent Sunday morning with his partner, Miriam Rothbart. After morning coffee, the actor went to the bathroom, where he was later found unconscious.

“He went to take a shower, and when he didn’t come out for a long time, Miriam became concerned and found him on the floor,” said the actor’s sister, Shana Maldon-Zappa. 

Paramedics, who arrived promptly, attempted to resuscitate him, but were unable to save him. The cause of death was a sudden heart attack.

Patrick Maldon’s death sparked an outpouring of sympathy among his colleagues. Actress Lisa Rinna, who worked with him on the soap opera *Days of Our Lives*, posted an old photo in memory of her friend.

Alison Sweeney called him “a rare person, an infinitely kind and generous soul,” adding that the actor always brought a unique charm and humor to the set.

His "Melrose Place" co-star Daphne Zuniga also shared warm memories of their time working together. 

“He was a truly good, kind person—always creating, striving for depth, challenging himself. I know you’re rocking and rolling now and flying free!” she wrote in a touching post.

Barbara Eden, who starred alongside Patrick in the film "My Adventures with Santa," emphasized that the loss is particularly painful because of its unexpectedness.

Patrick Muldoon rose to immense popularity in the 1990s. Viewers remember him for his role as Austin Reed in the soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” as well as for his portrayal of the charismatic villain Richard Hart in “Melrose Place.” 

In feature films, he is best remembered for his role as Zander Barkalo in Paul Verhoeven’s sci-fi action film “Starship Troopers.”
