A charity concert marking the 25th anniversary of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music will take place at the Hollywood Palladium on October 17. The announced performers include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Grohl and rapper Vince Staples, Rolling Stone reports.
Fundraising for music programs
The event aims to raise $1.5 million to continue the conservatory's music programs throughout the year. To mark its 25th anniversary, the institution decided to hold its annual celebration at the Hollywood Palladium instead of the traditional private fundraising dinner.
Tickets for the concert are expected to go on sale on September 25 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Sponsorship and VIP options will also be available. Organizers plan to announce the full list of participants later.

The conservatory's work
The Silverlake Conservatory of Music was founded in 2001 by Michael "Flea" Balzary, Keith "Tree" Barry and their friend Peter Weiss. According to the institution, it supplements music education programs in Los Angeles public schools and provides weekly music classes to more than 900 students.
The conservatory's scholarship program helps more than 200 students whose families otherwise could not afford music education. It provides free lessons, instruments, educational materials, ensemble classes and events. The institution teaches musicians with different levels of training, focusing primarily on young people, but its programs are available to everyone.
