Shaboozey and Gunna perform High Noon for the first time at the 2026 VMAs — Rolling Stone

Shaboozey and rapper Gunna performed at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27, where they performed their joint track High Noon for the first time. Shaboozey also performed Cowgirl from his fourth studio album The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, Rolling Stone reports.

Western-style staging

The performance began on a saloon set. During Cowgirl, background performers played cards, danced and staged a bar fight. The stage then plunged into darkness, and a wanted poster for Shaboozey appeared on a table in the saloon.

After that, the performer left the saloon, and Gunna joined him, appearing in a black carriage. Together, they performed High Noon. At the end of the performance, the saloon set was engulfed in flames.

Nominations and tour

Cowgirl was nominated for two MTV VMA awards — Best Country and Best Cinematography. The track became the second single from the album The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, released at the end of July. The song was produced by Sean Cook and Nevin Sastry; it reached No. 11 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

The Western-style music video for Cowgirl was co-directed by Shaboozey and Logan Meis. The video featured Summer House reality show cast member Ciara Miller, who introduced Shaboozey before his performance. The performer is currently continuing the Outlaws Never Die Tour, which will run until October 27 and conclude with a concert in Los Angeles.
