Singer Taylor Swift announces Patient Zero single — Rolling Stone
Singer Taylor Swift has announced the release of a new single, Patient Zero, which is set to arrive on September 25. The performer announced this on her social media accounts, Rolling Stone reports.

Following the announcement, Swift’s website changed its design from sparkling orange to dark gray. It also featured three versions of the Patient Zero CD single with different covers, showing the singer posing in black clothing.
Swift appeared in a similar look in an Instagram post dedicated to the new track. The performer also updated her profile picture on social media. Rolling Stone notes that such changes had previously accompanied the beginning of a new stage in her work.

Hints before the announcement
On the eve of the announcement, a third sheet of paper appeared on the My Letter page of the singer’s website beneath a letter written in May 2025 and the original Showgirl tracklist. Some fans suggested that this could concern a re-recording of Taylor Swift’s debut album, which turns 20 this year.
On the morning of September 22, Swift also changed her Instagram profile description. In addition, the letter “O” was replaced with the number “0” in the lyrics for Showgirl on Apple Music.
Second new song of the year
Patient Zero will become Swift’s second new musical work this year. In June, she released the track I Knew It, I Knew You for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. The singer is also set to receive the first Artist Director Honors award at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
