South Africa showcases film and series selection for Heritage Day — TimesLIVE
In South Africa, the entertainment project Spotlight has presented a selection of new films and an upcoming series for Heritage Day. It includes an animated film about Shaun the Sheep, the survival drama Heart of the Beast, a new Resident Evil reboot and the series Adventure Time: Side Quests, TimesLIVE reports.
Shaun the Sheep and a survival story
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, a new film about Shaun the Sheep, is being shown in South African cinemas. In the story, the protagonist tries to save the flock’s destroyed pumpkin patch on the eve of Halloween, but his experiment unleashes a mysterious creature in Mossy Bottom. The flock must find a way to deal with the unexpected guest.
Another cinema release is Heart of the Beast, in which a former special forces soldier and his combat dog must make their way through the harsh Alaskan wilderness after a plane crash. The film is directed by David Ayer, known for Suicide Squad and Fury. The cast includes Brad Pitt, J. K. Simmons and Anna Lamb.

New Resident Evil and a return to the Land of Ooo
A new Resident Evil film, based on the video game franchise of the same name, is also available in cinemas and IMAX theaters. Its plot focuses on a medical courier whose ordinary night turns into a fight for survival after a deadly outbreak. The film was directed by Zach Cregger, the creator of Barbarian and Weapons; it stars Austin Abrams, Paul Walter Hauser and Zack Cherry.
Adventure Time: Side Quests will soon premiere on Cartoon Network. The series will take viewers back to the early years of Finn and Jake’s friendship, with younger versions of the characters embarking on independent adventures across the Land of Ooo. John DiMaggio, Tom Kenny and Olivia Olson have returned to voice their characters, while Sasha Knight will voice young Finn.
