On April 12, St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv will host an Easter celebration featuring interactive activities and an introduction to folk traditions.
This was announced by Hnat Korobko, a patron and co-organizer of the “Know Your Ukraine” project.
A special area titled “Spring, Spring, What Have You Brought Us?” will be set up for children, where they can participate in an Easter quest, play traditional games with painted eggs, and create LEGO pysanky.
“It is through such games and hands-on experience that spring traditions become more accessible and understandable to children,” Korobko noted.
The children’s area will be open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
At the same time, a program has also been prepared for adults: spring songs and hayivky will be performed throughout the reserve, kobzars and lirnyks will perform, and traditional folk games will take place.
In addition, visitors will be able to join in a communal festive meal and visit an exhibition of folk artists.
The organizers note that the event’s goal is to revive the tradition of celebrating Easter together near churches and to create a space for family interaction.
