Ukrainians are flocking to Korzh's concert in Romania
Ukrainians are snapping up tickets en masse and heading to Romania for Max Korzh’s concert, which is expected to draw tens of thousands of people in Bucharest. This is already being actively discussed online, with people debating the artist’s stance and the appropriateness of such a frenzy during the war, according to “RFI in Ukrainian.”
On May 23, Belarusian singer Max Korzh is scheduled to perform at Romania’s main venue—the National Arena in Bucharest—and this event has unexpectedly become one of the most talked-about among the Ukrainian audience, as demand for tickets was so high that they sold out almost immediately after going on sale.
The stadium, which seats over 55,000 spectators, is already preparing for the big concert, and ticket prices ranged from approximately 290 to 520 Romanian lei, which is roughly 55–100 euros. As the media notes, accommodation prices in the city have even spiked during this period due to the influx of visitors.
Separately, social media and Telegram channels are reporting long lines for buses from Ukraine to Romania, as some fans are traveling to the concert in organized groups, further fueling the excitement surrounding the event.
Discussions and Reactions
On Threads and Telegram channels, there is active discussion about why this particular concert has generated such demand, and attention is also being drawn to Max Korzh’s public stance, which has repeatedly been the subject of controversy in the media, although his fans continue to call the artist “one of their own” and support his work regardless of political assessments.
No official statements have yet been issued by the organizers regarding additional security measures or changes in logistics, but interest in the concert continues to grow, and for many Ukrainians, the trip to Bucharest has already become an event in itself even before the performance begins.
A story has gone viral online about a teacher from Nikopol who dreamed of giving her graduates a special farewell message for their last day of school, and unexpectedly, this idea brought together dozens of Ukrainian stars who agreed to participate in a video for the students.
