Russian singer Valery Leontiev, who moved to the United States after the start of the full-scale war and has not publicly commented on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, has raised his performance fees for clients in Russia.
Now, a 50-minute concert by the artist in Russia will cost at least 17 million rubles.
Converted, this amounts to about 10 million hryvnias. At the same time, the singer has kept his previous rates for performances abroad—about 12 million rubles.
It is reported that Leontyev has revised his touring policy and introduced different rates depending on the country where the event is held. Thus, clients in Russia will have to pay significantly more than concert organizers outside the country.
In addition, the 77-year-old artist is increasingly reluctant to agree to private corporate performances. One of the reasons cited is his health and the difficulty of long-haul flights. According to sources, during long trips, the singer experiences fluctuations in blood pressure, headaches, and additional strain on his cardiovascular system.
Earlier, Latvian singer Laima Vaikule said that Leontyev had left Russia and now lives in the U.S. She also hinted at his stance on Russia’s war against Ukraine, noting that she plans to invite the artist to one of her upcoming music events.
