A Ukrainian has won a prestigious Grammy Award
Lviv-based sound engineer Volodymyr Punko won a Latin Grammy Award for his work on the instrumental album by Spanish guitarist Rafael Serrallet, which won in its category. For his work on the project, the Ukrainian professional received one of the world’s most prestigious music awards.

The music project Y el canto de todas won in the “Best Instrumental Album” category, and it involved both performers and producers and sound engineers, so the award was presented to several members of the creative team, including the Ukrainian from Lviv.
Volodymyr Punko posted a photo of the statuette on social media and explained that he was responsible for the entire audio production process—from recording to final mastering—combining technical precision with a live orchestral sound and musical expressiveness. “I handled the entire audio production process—from recording to final mastering—striving to combine technical precision, a natural orchestral sound, and a focus on musical expressiveness,” noted Volodymyr Punko.
According to the project participants, the album was created in Lviv during a full-scale war, and its concept is dedicated to the music of female composers from Latin America, including Violeta Parra, Chabuca Grande, and Consuela Velásquez, whose works were reimagined for guitar and orchestra.
The 2025 Latin Grammy Awards ceremony took place in Las Vegas on November 13, and this victory marked a significant international recognition for the Ukrainian sound engineer and the entire creative team behind the project.
