Australia announces winners in two categories of the 78th Emmy Awards
The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony is ongoing in Australia. According to ABC News Australia, the list of winners currently includes Jean Smart, who won the award for best actress in a comedy series for Hacks, as well as Kate O'Flynn. She was recognized for best supporting actress in a comedy series for Widow's Bay.
Nominees for the award for best comedy series include Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Margo's Got Money Troubles, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking and Widow's Bay. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Steve Carell, Matthew Rhys, Jason Segel and Martin Short are competing for the award for best actor in a comedy series.
Drama categories
The nominees for best drama series are The Diplomat, The Gilded Age, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Paradise, The Pitt, Pluribus, Slow Horses and Your Friends & Neighbors. Sterling K. Brown for Paradise, Gary Oldman for Slow Horses, Mark Ruffalo for Task, Rufus Sewell for The Diplomat and Noah Wyle for The Pitt have been nominated for the acting award in a drama series.

The female drama category features Carrie Coon, Chase Infiniti, Keri Russell, Rhea Seehorn and Zendaya. Nominees for the award for best supporting actress in a drama series include Taylor Dearden, Fiona Dourif, Allison Janney, Katherine LaNasa, Sepideh Moafi, Julianne Nicholson and Carolina Wydra.

All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Beef, DTF St Louis and Love Story: John F Kennedy Jr & Carolyn Bessette have been nominated in the limited or anthology series or television film category. Nominees for acting awards in these projects include Riz Ahmed, Jason Bateman, Oscar Isaac, Claire Danes, Carey Mulligan and Sarah Snook.
