Verka Serduchka's performance was cut from the final video of Eurovision 2026
Verka Serduchka, along with Ruslana, Lordi, and other stars, performed during the grand final of “Eurovision 2026” with a grand medley celebrating the contest’s 70th anniversary. However, after the official video highlights were released, the organizers cut the final part of the Ukrainian artist’s performance, sparking a wave of criticism among fans.
Viewers noticed that one of the show’s most memorable moments had been removed from the edit—the moment when Verka Serduchka performed the hit “Volare” a cappella, with the audience of thousands singing along with her.
Also missing from the video is a segment featuring a quote from last year’s contest song “Espresso Macchiato,” whose inclusion had previously sparked outrage in Italy.
On social media, users are actively expressing their dissatisfaction with the organizers’ decision:
“Oh, why did you cut the final part with Serdyuchka singing ‘Volare’??? It was amazing!!! Put it back!”
“Where is Verka Serduchka and the audience singing ‘Volare’? Please upload the full version—it was the best part!”
“Hey, organizers, post the full version”
“Where’s Espresso Macchiato and Volare?!? I want you to upload the real, full version from the show”
“The real boss of Eurovision is Serdyuchka”
“Verka is the Mother of Eurovision, and her mom is the Grandmother of Eurovision”
Along with Verka Serduchka, Christian Kostov, Erika Vikman, Miriana Conte, Ruslana, Max Mutze, Lordi, and Oleksandr Rybak took part in the festive performance. The artists performed the contest’s most famous hits from various years.
At the same time, in the full version of the Grand Final broadcast, all parts of the performance remained unchanged.
The winner of “Eurovision 2026” was Bulgarian singer Dara with the song “Bangaranga.” She received 516 points: 204 from the jury and 312 from the viewers. Thus, Bulgaria will host “Eurovision 2027.”
Ukraine’s representative, LELEKA, took 9th place, scoring 221 points: 54 from the jury and 167 from the viewers.
Earlier, Ukrainian singer Viktoria Leleka shared her first impressions after the conclusion of the final round of the “Eurovision 2026” international song contest, which took place on May 16 in Vienna. The artist candidly admitted that she is usually critical of her own creative work, but this time she left the main stage with a profound sense of happiness and a sense of duty fulfilled.
Ahead of the Eurovision 2026 grand final, bookmakers updated their predictions, and Ukraine’s chances of winning plummeted.
