South Korea and US discuss stronger energy cooperation
Representatives of South Korea and the United States discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector in Seoul amid growing uncertainty in global markets. This was reported by The Korea Herald, citing South Korea's Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment.

South Korea's Second Vice Minister of Climate Lee Ho-hyeon met with his US counterpart Kurt Coccodrilli, who is serving as acting assistant secretary. The officials reviewed policy measures aimed at ensuring the stability of energy supply chains and electricity supply.

Energy security
The sides also exchanged views on energy security issues that, according to the ministry, require a joint response. In particular, they discussed ensuring the security of power grids amid rapidly growing electricity demand, as well as expanding energy storage systems.
Lee Ho-hyeon stated that stable energy supply chains and reliable electricity supply are the foundation of the country's industrial competitiveness. According to him, the meeting should help the two countries jointly respond to increasing market uncertainty and strengthen cooperation in the energy sector.
