Russian strikes have left Ukrainians in four regions without power
As of the morning of August 10, consumers in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions were left without power due to new Russian strikes on energy infrastructure. Ukrenergo reported on the consequences of the attack.
“As a result of Russian shelling, there are new power outages as of this morning in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions. Emergency repair work is ongoing in the Odesa region, which suffered a massive missile and drone attack on Saturday night. A significant portion of the region’s previously affected customers have already had their power restored, but over the past 24 hours, the enemy has carried out new strikes on energy infrastructure,” the statement reads.
In the Odesa region, power workers are continuing emergency repair and restoration work following a massive Russian missile and drone attack on Sunday night. A significant portion of the consumers who were left without electricity have already been reconnected.
At the same time, the region still needs to conserve energy. Ukrenergo explained that this is necessary to prevent equipment overload following the massive attack.
Overall, electricity consumption in Ukraine has decreased. As of 9:30 a.m. on Monday, it was 16.7% lower than on the previous business day—Friday, August 7.
Ukrenergo attributed this decline to lower air temperatures and clear weather across nearly all of Ukraine, with the exception of parts of the central regions. As a result, residential solar power plants are operating at high efficiency.
Energy officials recommend shifting peak electricity consumption to daytime hours—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—whenever possible. It is during these hours that industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently.
In the Odesa region, however, the call for energy conservation remains relevant due to the condition of equipment following Russian attacks.

As a reminder, a gas station and a business were damaged in the Poltava region as a result of a Russian attack.
In Dnipro on Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse was destroyed as a result of an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 soldiers and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
