Power outages occurred in six regions of Ukraine due to Russian strikes
As a result of Russian shelling of energy infrastructure, as of August 18, some consumers were left without power in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Chernihiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions. Utility workers are working to restore power.
Restoration work is ongoing wherever the security situation allows. Utility workers are doing everything they can to restore power to all customers as quickly as possible.
No power restrictions are expected today. Please check the official websites of your distribution system operators for any updates regarding power supply.
“Today, it is advisable to shift your active electricity consumption to daytime hours—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We ask consumers, if possible, to use electricity sparingly in the evening—from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.," the Ministry of Energy emphasizes.
Throughout the day on August 17, Russian troops attacked 59 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in two deaths and four injuries. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported on the consequences of the Russian strikes.
As a reminder, air defense systems were activated in the Kyiv region due to a Russian attack.
Earlier, Ukraine officially adopted the long-range “Dovbush T40” unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
