CFTC plans to launch spot crypto products on regulated exchanges

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is preparing to launch new spot crypto products on regulated platforms. The interim chairman of the CFTC, Caroline Pham, is actively meeting with crypto exchanges to discuss the details of the launch of new products. As part of the initiative, it is planned to create a new experimental unit in the enforcement department, as well as to develop a guide to spot crypto trading based on the agency's current powers.

This launch is important as the CFTC is looking to legalize the use of stablecoins as tokenized collateral, which could happen as early as early 2026. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that Caroline Pham will leave her position before these plans are realized. She emphasizes the importance of working with Congress on legislative clarity for the digital asset market and hopes to launch new products by the end of the year.
