Fake Ledger app in App Store steals $9.5 million
Scammers listed a fake Ledger app for macOS in the App Store and extracted millions of dollars from users’ accounts within just a few days. According to on-chain detective ZachXBT, more than 50 people were affected.

The scheme operated from April 7 to April 13. After users installed the fake app, the fraudsters gained access to their wallets and withdrew funds without authorization. The largest loss reported by a single user was up to $4 million.
Ledger is a well-known company specializing in hardware cryptocurrency wallets, widely trusted around the world for securing digital assets.
This case highlights the critical importance of verifying apps and download sources, especially in the cryptocurrency sector where scams can result in significant financial damage.
