Basketball player LeBron James boosts demand for 76ers tickets and merchandise — CNBC
In Philadelphia, United States, basketball player LeBron James’ move to the Philadelphia 76ers has already contributed to increased demand for tickets and club merchandise. As CNBC reports, the team has also signed a new multi-year jersey logo placement deal with energy company Bloom Energy.
According to an unnamed CNBC source, the annual value of the deal with Bloom Energy exceeds $30 million. The company will replace Crypto.com as the 76ers’ partner for the patch on game uniforms. The club said the agreement also provides for a seven-figure investment by Bloom Energy in communities across the Greater Philadelphia region.
Ticket sales rise
Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment CEO Tad Brown said there has been a significant influx of people seeking to purchase season tickets. Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment manages the Philadelphia 76ers.
Ticket resale platform StubHub said the 76ers have risen from 22nd place to first among NBA clubs in the number of tickets sold for home and away games. Tickets for the 2026–2027 season are selling about seven times faster than last year, while the number of tickets sold so far is 11 times higher than during the same period last year.

More than four in 10 tickets for 76ers games are purchased by fans from outside Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware; previously, their share was about one-quarter. According to StubHub estimates, searches for Philadelphia team games accounted for 38% of all NBA game searches on the platform, compared with 4% a year earlier.
Prices and merchandise sales
According to TickPick, the average ticket price for Philadelphia 76ers home games in 2026 is $282, compared with $107 during the same sales period last year. For the season opener on October 20 against the reigning champions, the New York Knicks, the average price reached $2,088 — the highest figure in the league.
Fanatics said July was the most successful month in James’ 24-year career for merchandise sales. After the move to Philadelphia was announced, he became the athlete with the highest sales across the entire Fanatics platform. In addition, more than 200,000 Topps Now collectible cards were purchased following the announcement.
Consulting firm Boyd Company forecasts that James’ first full year with the 76ers could add between $250 million and $430 million in total economic activity to the region. During the season, the team will have a record 34 nationally televised games.
