The NBU has released the exchange rates for May 27; the dollar is falling
The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the dollar for May 27 at 44.2767 UAH/USD. Thus, the Ukrainian currency weakened by 3 kopecks over the past 24 hours.
This is according to data from the NBU.
At the same time, the official exchange rate for the euro is 51.5159 UAH/EUR. The hryvnia strengthened by 1 kopeck against the European currency, but this did not offset the previous drop of 20 kopecks the day before.
As of Wednesday morning, the average exchange rates at banks are:
- dollar — 43.94 UAH for buying and 44.45 UAH for selling;
- euro — 51.20 UAH for buying and 51.84 UAH for selling.
At currency exchange offices, the average exchange rates are:
- dollar — 44.09 UAH for buying and 44.20 UAH for selling;
- euro — 51.55 UAH for buying and 51.75 UAH for selling.
The foreign exchange market continues to see fluctuations in the dollar exchange rate, high demand for foreign currency, and the hryvnia’s sensitivity to external economic factors.
The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rates for Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The U.S. dollar once again reached a new all-time high, surpassing the previous record set on May 25 (44.26 hryvnia).
For comparison, the previous day (May 26), the official exchange rates stood at 44.24 hryvnia per dollar and 51.52 hryvnia per euro.
The total amount of deposits held by individuals and sole proprietors in Ukrainian banks increased by 40.1 billion hryvnia in April, reaching 1.68 trillion hryvnia.
