Ukrposhta plans to raise more than 22 million hryvnias from the sale of decommissioned vehicles
The joint-stock company “Ukrposhta” expects to raise more than 22 million hryvnias by selling decommissioned vehicles through the “Prozorro.Sales” system, and will use the proceeds to modernize its logistics fleet.
This was announced by CEO Ihor Smilianskyi, who noted that during the full-scale invasion, the postal operator lost 426 vehicles as a result of enemy shelling and the temporary occupation of territories.
The process of upgrading long-haul vehicles and optimizing assets is taking place in several stages:
First stage: The company successfully sold 716 vehicles, bringing in approximately 9 million hryvnias for the state-owned company.
Stage Two: Another 316 vehicles were put up for auction; most of the auctions have already concluded, and thanks to high competition (over 600 participants), the final value of the lots nearly doubled—from 7.7 million to a projected 13.7 million hryvnias. The most expensive lot was a Kyiv-based lot of 23 Soviet-era cars, sold for 916 thousand hryvnias, while the cheapest was a Mazda 6 for 44 thousand hryvnias.
In parallel with the sale of its old assets, Ukrposhta fully automated its sorting processes and expanded its fleet with 160 new, modern MAN and IVECO trucks. For the period from January to April, the company’s total profit amounted to 106.3 million hryvnias, and its equity reached 2.3 billion hryvnias. At the same time, for the first quarter of 2026, the company’s net loss amounted to 204.8 million hryvnias (0.5% more than in the same period last year), despite a slight increase in total revenue to 13.1 billion hryvnias.
This was reported in a press release by Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi.
On June 16, the Russians attacked three Ukrposhta vehicles with drones: one in the Zaporizhzhia region, where the driver was wounded, and two in Nikopol.
A Russian FPV drone struck a vehicle belonging to Ukrposhta’s 61st mobile branch in the city of Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The enemy attack occurred just as the vehicle was leaving its base, resulting in the driver sustaining a leg injury.
