The number of bankruptcy cases has increased in Ukraine

There are 6,107 bankruptcy cases pending in Ukraine’s commercial courts, 45% of which involve individuals and sole proprietors. 

According to the agency, in the first half of 2026, courts opened 1,250 new bankruptcy proceedings, while closing 767 cases.

Currently, 76% of debtors are in the liquidation stage, 19% are undergoing asset disposition proceedings, and another 5% are undergoing financial rehabilitation.

The Ministry of Justice noted that Ukraine is also developing a preventive restructuring mechanism that allows companies to avoid bankruptcy without court proceedings.
