China presents tourism offerings at fair in Sapporo
The China National Tourist Office in Tokyo presented China’s cultural and tourism offerings at the World Tour Summer Fair 2026 in Sapporo on Japan’s Hokkaido island. The event took place over the weekend, ECNS reports.

As part of the fair, the office held an information session for local residents titled “Nihao! China — Discover China, Starting from Hokkaido.” At the stand, visitors were given new editions of Chinese travel guides and maps, took part in interactive prize draws, and were invited to visit the institution’s official social media pages. Digital travel brochures were available via QR codes.
Participants in the session were informed about regulations and services intended to make travel to China easier for foreigners. The office also presented tourism opportunities in Beijing and Shanghai, focusing on direct flights from New Chitose Airport to China.

Beijing, Shanghai and Jingdezhen porcelain
The presentation on Beijing covered entry procedures, using the metro, tax refunds for visitors leaving the country, and cultural sites popular with foreign tourists. For Shanghai, classic routes through the historic Bund area and water towns were presented.
The office also announced a package for Shanghai Disney Resort, which was recently launched on Japanese online travel booking platforms. The “Jingdezhen Handicraft Porcelain Industry Heritage” site was also presented; according to the institution, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2026. Jingdezhen is known for its centuries-old tradition of ceramic production and offers visitors historical sites and the opportunity to make porcelain.
