Zelensky ready to support most points of US peace plan — Starmer
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that negotiations on the US peace plan are moving in a positive direction.
“I really think we are moving in a positive direction, and today there are signs that, to a large extent, most of the text, as Volodymyr points out, can be accepted,” he said.
Starmer stressed that this is not yet a final agreement, but it demonstrates progress in discussions between Ukraine, the United States and international partners on ways to achieve a just and lasting peace. According to him, work on the plan is ongoing, and the key factors remain the parties’ willingness to compromise and the need to preserve Ukraine’s defence capabilities.
Today, 25 November, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a new meeting of the “Coalition of the Resolute,” at which participants plan to agree on further steps in the context of the war in Ukraine.
Starmer also emphasised that any peace agreement with Russia requires Ukraine’s consent.
He noted that the “coalition of the determined” has agreed on a peace plan for Ukraine, which is expected to be implemented by the end of 2025.
