Asamoah Gyan supports Ghana women's U-20 team after World Cup exit
In Poland, Ghana national football teams ambassador Asamoah Gyan supported the country’s women’s under-20 team after its exit from the 2026 World Cup. The Ghanaian footballers, known as the Black Princesses, lost 0-4 to France in the final Group C match on September 12.
Group-stage performance
Ghana began the tournament with a defeat, beat South Korea in its second match, but ended its campaign at the group stage after the game against France. The team earned three points in three matches.
According to MyJoyOnline, Gyan met with the players and urged them to continue training and believe in their own abilities.

Gyan’s words
According to Gyan, new opportunities lie ahead for the players, even if they are considering their next steps after the tournament ends. He noted that no one knows what awaits them in the future.
Gyan considers the footballers’ future promising given their performances since the start of the competition, even though the team did not achieve the desired result. He stressed that exiting the tournament does not mean the end of their journey and urged them to prepare to return stronger.
