Augsburg top Bundesliga after win in Frankfurt, Germany
In Germany, Augsburg defeated Eintracht 4:1 in Frankfurt and moved to the top of the Bundesliga table after two rounds. The team have six points, while Mainz thrashed Hamburg 5:0.
Augsburg’s comeback win
Eintracht opened the scoring in the sixth minute: Jonathan Burkardt headed in a cross from Younes Ebnoutaib. The home side had the advantage in chances in the first half, but the course of the game changed after the break.
Arijon Ibrahimovic equalised with a header at the far post in his debut match for Augsburg, in the first minute of the second half. A minute later, Robin Fellhauer put the visitors ahead by converting a chance in the penalty area. Alexis Claude-Maurice scored the third goal with a shot from outside the penalty area, while Fabian Rieder sealed the final score with a free-kick late in the match.

Five goals from Mainz
In the parallel match, Mainz thrashed Hamburg 5:0. Sheraldo Becker opened the scoring in the 19th minute after a pass from Kaishu Sano, and later assisted Philipp Mwene, who doubled the lead before the break.
After play resumed, Becker was also involved in the third goal, providing an assist for Philipp Tietz. Tietz later scored a brace, while the fifth goal was scored by former Hamburg player Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer. According to Channel NewsAsia, Hamburg lost both opening matches of the championship without scoring a single goal and are bottom of the table. Mainz are fifth with four points.
Mainz coach Urs Fischer described his team’s performance as very good and said his players controlled the match throughout all 90 minutes and almost did not allow their opponents to create scoring chances.
