In New York, United States, the tournament’s top seed Aryna Sabalenka reached the US Open quarterfinals by defeating American Taylor Townsend in the fourth-round match. The Belarusian tennis player, who had won the tournament twice in a row, claimed victory in two sets — 6:4, 6:3.
A difficult start to the match
