Hearts of Oak thrash Berekum Chelsea in Ghana league opener
Ghanaian club Hearts of Oak began the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season with a 4-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea. The match took place at the University of Ghana Stadium, while John Antwi scored a brace in his debut match for Hearts of Oak.

Antwi opened the scoring in the fifth minute, scoring from close range. Berekum Chelsea tried to equalize, but the forward scored for a second time in the 37th minute. Hearts of Oak went into the break with a two-goal lead.

Two goals late in the match
After the break, Hearts of Oak continued to attack but scored their third goal only in the 86th minute, through Abdul Kader Kurama. Three minutes later, Ali Mohammed converted a penalty to set the final score at 4-0.
Antwi previously played for Dreams FC. According to MyJoyOnline, Hearts of Oak earned three points in the first match of the new season.
