Liverpool announces five-year deal with Turkish Airlines in Cyprus

In Cyprus, Liverpool Football Club announced a five-year sponsorship agreement with Turkish Airlines. From June 1, 2027, the Turkish airline will become the club’s principal partner and receive prominent placement in its branding.

Change of shirt sponsor

The agreement will mark Liverpool’s first change of main shirt sponsor since 2010. Standard Chartered, which has been the club’s leading shirt sponsor for 17 years, will remain associated with Liverpool as a global partner.

As Cyprus Mail reports, citing Reuters, media outlets estimate the contract’s value at more than £300 million, or $405.78 million. The exact financial terms of the deal have not been officially confirmed.

Potentially one of the biggest Premier League contracts

According to media reports, the deal could match the revenue of Manchester United’s sponsorship contract with Qualcomm, signed in August 2024. This could make Liverpool’s partnership with Turkish Airlines one of the most lucrative in the Premier League.

Liverpool’s chief commercial officer Ben Latty said that Turkish Airlines has a broad international network and that the club is looking forward to beginning the cooperation. He also mentioned the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul, when Liverpool won after a comeback.

Turkish Airlines is already an official partner of the Champions League and the main sponsor of Turkey’s national team.
