US retain Junior Solheim Cup after 13-11 win in the Netherlands
The US golf team retained the Junior Solheim Cup after defeating Team Europe 13-11 at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands. This was reported by Sky Sports News. The American team held on to its lead despite a strong performance by the Europeans in the final day's singles matches.
After the first day, the US led 9.5-2.5. On Tuesday, the team needed another 2.5 points to retain the trophy or three points for an overall victory.
Decisive matches
Eliana Saga defeated Adriana Garcia Terol 4&3, bringing the US closer to the required result. World amateur No. 1 Asterisk Talley lost to England's Annabelle Pipher on the 18th hole.
Lauren Crump and Anna Ludlowa also secured victories for the European team. Madelyn Conser defeated Lana Guillet 5&4, while Kelly Zhang beat Carolina Perez-Tasso 2 up. Zhang's victory gave the US team the 12.5 points needed to retain the cup.

The senior Solheim Cup will feature 28 matches over three days: foursomes, fourballs and singles matches. Each match is worth one point, and a team must be the first to reach 14.5 points to win.
